A volunteer-led home for Telugu families across Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland.
Our story
CATS was formed in 2005 to expand cultural, professional and community services for Telugu people in the Capitol Area. The organization also serves as an incubator where community members can bring forward useful ideas and help develop them into projects.

CATS is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to promoting Telugu culture in the Washington DC metro area.
Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Culture and language
- Promote cultural and religious functions of the Telugu community

Capitol Area Telugu Society (CATS) is a volunteer-led nonprofit founded in 2005, serving Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland.
How much does membership cost and who is covered?
Life Membership currently costs $50. Coverage: Member, spouse and dependent children up to age 23. Life members form the General Body. See membership details and join.
